Where the Divine meets the reality of daily living.
Synagogue Hashem is a Reform Synagogue. Our philosophy is base on
the notion that the Divine needs a relationship of love. For example, the book of Ruth brings this out in that Ruth was born a Moabite, but became a Jew by choosing the Jewish G-d and the Jewish people. This is LOVE
Being Jewish is about LOVE, laws are important yes, however we must understand that many of the laws we have are Rabbinic in nature.
SEEING THE LIGHT
Knowledge without action is useless. Judaism requires expression of love and goodness. Therefore, we have an active outreach in the community weather it is feeding the poor or being involve in social
activities. There is no limit and all ideas are welcome.
Come let us go things to together:

What we believe
We affirm that all peoples are in the image of the Divine creator- Hashem (Yehoveh). And that both male and female are equal in the all aspects. Therefore, women and men are open to all leadership levels. This we belief has been the case throughout Jewish history for example; Deborah was both a leader, prophet, and Judge of the Jewish people. There have also been many prophet of the Jewish people who are and have been women such as Anna etc.
Our worship service is total unity and there is no separation of men from women and both men and women are called to the Torah. All are welcome and our atmosphere is non judgmental. Both men and women can wear tallit and other Jewish items used in worship.
We are free spirit, relax and comfortable with no dress codes. Please come as you are. Our service is a blend of classic and modern musical rhythms and very lively with lots of fun.
Jewish calendar for 2009 to 2013
We observe the holidays above, however only the first and last day of Passover we avoid most work and so for Sukkot, Rosh Hashanah both days, Yom Kippur.
Our worship is very colorful and we are always evolving and add new things as we go.
We are a very dynamic community. PLEASE COME JOIN US.
We also believe in peace, however a person has a right to defend him or herself. We also believe that the nation of Israel is a nation of religion and culture. We are not a race. Ruth the Grand Mother of King David was a convert from Moab and the mother of Ephraim and Manasseh was also a convert from Egypt. We are thus a religious nationality and also a people.
We are Pro-Israeli Zionist all the way with no exceptions.
